Dutch Muesli

This is a great wholesome breakfast that can be made the night before and kept up to 4 days.

The Eat-Clean Diet for Family and Kids

Ingredients:
1/2 cup barley flakes
2 cups rolled oats - not instant
1/4 cup flax seed, ground
1/4 cup wheat germ
3 cups boiling water
1/4 cup almonds
1/4 cup organic raisins
1/2 cup pitted dates
1/4 cup honey
1 cup plain, low fat yogurt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 large apple, grated

Preparation:
1. Place barley, oatmeal, flax seed, wheat germ and oat bran in a medium sized glass bowl. mix well to combine

2. Pour boiling water over mixture and let sit overnight or until water is absorbed.

3. In another glass bowl, measure remaining ingredients. mix well and combine.

4. Add wet grains to fruit mixture and mix well. Serve or refrigerate.

One cup serving: 250 calories 3 g fat 9g protein 47 g carb 7 g fiber. That is a great start to the day!
